Privacy Policy
How Winning With Shopify collects, uses and protects your data.
Last updated: August 2026. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who We Are
Winning With Shopify ("we", "us", "our") is a podcast and online resource dedicated to helping Shopify merchants grow. The site is owned and operated by Spec Digital, Fairmount House, Bull Hill, Leatherhead, KT22 7AH, United Kingdom.
We are committed to being transparent about the personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to all visitors and users of wwspodcast.com.
Data We Collect
Information you give us directly: your name and email address when you apply to become a guest, contact us, join our newsletter, or register for the Growth Vault. On the guest application form we also ask about any previous podcast, webinar or show appearances you have had.
Information collected automatically: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, how you found the site, and general usage patterns. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools to help us understand and improve our content.
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to respond to enquiries, review guest applications, send the newsletter you signed up for, and improve the content and performance of the site.
We only process your data for the specific purposes set out in this policy. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Where we need data to fulfil a request you have made (such as a guest application), we keep it for as long as needed to do so.
Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your consent preferences, measure traffic, and improve your experience. Our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies before they are set, and you can change your choice at any time.
Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics 4) only load after you consent and are measured using a privacy-friendly, server-side approach.
Email & Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is passed to our email provider so we can send you our weekly ecommerce newsletter. We never sell or rent your email address.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time and we will remove your address from our mailing list.
Third-Party Services
Our site embeds content from YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and uses Google Analytics 4 and our email provider. These providers may set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services, but we only work with providers who offer appropriate data protection.
Sharing & Protecting Your Data
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Access is restricted to authorised team members who need it to run the site and newsletter.
We never share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share data where required by law or with the processors named in this policy, who act on our instructions under appropriate agreements.
Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. Guest applications and enquiry messages are retained for a reasonable period so we can respond and follow up, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Newsletter subscribers' data is kept until they unsubscribe, at which point it is removed from our mailing list.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address on our Contact page and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised 'last updated' date. We encourage you to review this page occasionally to stay informed.
